第一次替網球比賽拍照。在賽馬會會所舉行的合家歡業餘網球賽,正式的名稱叫做Nikon HKJC Mixed Doubles Championships。老實說參賽者的技巧和姿勢都沒有職業賽的水準,發球非常多失誤,接發球之後沒一兩下,球就已經飛出界外。不過,如果網球在場內有來有往一陣子,就足以讓人非常緊張。
現在我終於明白網球有多好看,好看的網球賽有多貴重。

經過連續三十六小時的工作,工作室開放日的場地佈置終於完成。今年自己一腳踢,除了相框裡的玻璃我無能為力之外,由拍攝、沖曬到裝裱都一個人做,木框也是自己造。
展覽主題為《無風險好奇》,是一系列女性路人的相片。單純地因為看見她們漂亮就去拍,簡單來說即是街頭獵豔吧。走在路上時常常對陌生人投以好奇的目光,不過太用心注視的話,就未免太失禮了。順應偉大的後現代消費社會將消費品的有害特質消除的營銷模式,《無風險好奇》讓你將凝望路人的時間無限延長,研究楚每一個細節,完全滿足你的好奇心!

在黑房中工作,不覺已經一個月。早上回到工作室,把放大好的相片攤出來再編輯一下,挑了二十一張出來展覽,包括兩系列的相片。將計劃用來展覽的範圍,移開工作檯和地板,清理牆壁。
《女路人》,其中幾張。用Rollieflex換拍出來的一系列,在路上只找好看的女性來拍。為了姿勢和表情都順其自然,全部都沒有問過就拍了。有人會看看我的相機,不過大部份人都沒有發覺我拍她們。

有位拍攝劇照的行家跟我訂造一個快門滅聲器,我大著膽去做一些改動。上次做的是自家用,初型中的初型。今次有客戶的訂金贊助,能用上較好的材料。
I received inquiries to make a sound blimp for a film-still photographer. With the client’s sponsor, this time I can try some better materials. Note that I glued a 4″ PVC tube-lid onto the box, allowing us to screw mount the lens tube. Moreover, the twist-able part of the lens tube will be in contact with the lens, which give us the possibility to zoom a lens without taking the camera out of the box, adjust the zoom range and put it back again.
Pelican 1150防水箱,可容納一部單反機身,如果要用直倒電池箱的話,就要用Pelican 1200。用永諾的無線遙控觸發快門。
The blimp is made for a 5D mark II. So a 1150 Pelican case would suffice (if you want to include the battery pack, you will need a 1200 case). I employed a Yongnao wireless trigger to act as shutter, which produce less clicking noise than its wired cousin. Averagely speaking, Asians have smaller pair of hands, so the shutter button is placed at the side. I think it gives better grip for average hand size than placed in front.
放棄原裝的海綿,用較高密度的超力綿代替。手工切出來的內膽雖然不美觀,但剩出來空間的較少,滅聲功能也較好。鏡筒裡面用珍珠綿,磨擦力較低,使鏡頭能夠流暢地從鏡頭裡面退出來。
I ditched the original sponge, and returned to some denser cushion sponge for the interior. It might not be so nice looking with my hand-cut outlines, but it gives better performance in sound proofing for its higher density and less remaining space. Without much space for shutter sound to resonate, sound proofing ability is thus improved.
在鏡頭的變焦環上繞一條橡皮手帶,讓它接觸到鏡筒裡的珍珠綿,令滅聲器的鏡筒轉動時可以變焦。
Putting a rubber band around the zoom-ring, so it is in touch with the foam inside the lens tube. When the tube is turned, so the zoom-ring.
示範影片。拍得有點粗糙不好意思。現在不用將相機從箱中拿出來都可以變焦,當然還是有點累贅,但總比開箱又關箱好。不過那些變焦時會伸縮的鏡頭如24-105mm和24-70mm,還未想到如何令它們在鏡筒裡變焦。

The zooming may be a bit clumsy, but it is more convenient than taking the camera out of the box, adjust the zoom range and put it back again. I am still trying to figure out a way to zoom lens like 24-70mm and 24-105mm, which length changes while you zoom.
